Ever wonder how can you maximize your visit to Tybee Island? We have gathered the best insider tips so you can plan a dream trip to one of the most unique places you'll ever visit. BEST PLACE TO LAY DOWN YOUR TOWEL Park near the Tybee Beach Beach and Pavilion ( Tybrisa St, Tybee Island, GA 31328) use the bridge  in front of the Tybee Island Marine Center  turn right and walk towards the rock formation close to the sand dunes. This portion of the beach has a smoother sand, lots of shallow areas that are perfect for little kids to bathe safely, is less crowded, and because it's close to the sand dunes you will see a large variety of seaside birds.

Move For Moms 5K Race November 8 at Piedmont Park

A 5K race for those who would like to run, and 1K walk for walkers, families, and stroller enthusiasts!

What is Move For Moms?

Move For Moms! is a Fun Run to promote maternal mental health. This event is located in Atlanta’s beautiful Piedmont Park, and includes a 1k for walkers, families, and stroller enthusiasts, and a 5k for those would like to run a longer distance. After the race, refreshments, food, a post-race raffle, an awards ceremony, and family friendly games are all provided as part of the fun.

This event is organized by Project Healthy Moms of Mental Health America of Georgia.  Mental Health America of Georgia is a nonprofit organization, and Project Healthy Moms is a subset of the organization dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and promoting resources for women suffering from postpartum depression and other maternal mental illnesses.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness about postpartum depression and other maternal mental illnesses. Maternal mental illness affects nearly 20% of women who become pregnant, and these illnesses can have a drastic impact on the health of the whole family; consequently, Mental Health America of Georgia believes maternal mental health needs to be discussed openly and without stigma. We hope that this event will provide families with information about postpartum depression and other maternal mental illnesses, and will encourage the community to rally together to support the mental health of our mothers.

Move For Moms! is a family-friendly event, and we would love to see you there. Bring your family, bring your best-decorated stroller, bring your running shoes—there is something for everyone! Everyone is welcome to attend to show love for our mothers. Maternal mental health touches all of our lives, so please come out and enjoy the park, support the cause, and help us Move for Moms!
