How to Build a Resume That Stands Out Visually To Help Your Teen Land Their First Job

Creating a captivating resume that sparkles bright enough to catch an employer's attention is an art on its own terms.

With the ramp up pressure kids experience at school and the need to sign up to too many extracurricular activities, it’s no surprise how the number of teens employed have been declining over the past decades.
There are many benefits (and risks) of adolescent employment. The decision to allow your teen to have an after school job should be a well thought-out family decision based on how well they can manage responsibilities, time management and money.

But if your teen is ready to take the plunge the first thing they need to figure out is how to build a resume that stands out even if they don’t have any work experience.

But where to start? How do can you create a snapshot of your ambitions, show your strengths and interests and captive an employers attention?
This is the part Canvas comes in and rescues the day. If you are unfamiliar Canvas, this is a graphic-design t…

Happy Howl-O-Ween! Happy Dogs at Georgia SPCA Pet Parade (VIDEO)

"There is no fundamental difference between man and animals in their mental faculties. Like man, they manifestly feel pleasure and pain, happiness, and misery. Sympathy for the animals is one of the noblest virtues with which man is endowed"

Charles Darwin (1809 - 1882) Naturalist and Author of "The Origin of Species by means of Natural Selection"

I'm bringing home so many happy memories that will not be forgotten from this past howl-o-ween. Everywhere I looked, all I could see was kindness. It was truly inspiring to see how many volunteers were able to work together, collectively, as a unified entity to support the shelter.

The pet parade generated a large audience and was kindly supported by local community members and business such as The Fernbank Museum, The Cupcake People, DJ AudiocakeExcel Gymnastics and CheerJumptastic, BodyPlex, 97.1FM The River, George Aubrey Photography and so many more.

The shelter was able to raise a good amount of money and is on the final stretch of fundraising 30,000 dollars through their "Monster match" fundraiser.

Donate during the month of October all donations will be doubled, up to a grand total of $30,000! So far the shelter has been able to raise 15k+ and has less than 48 hrs to raise as much money as they can. To donate please visit http://georgiaspca.org/georgia-spca-matching-contribution
In special recognition of monthly recurring donors, their donations will receive an extra match! A $10 donation becomes $30, a $25 donation becomes $75, and so on.

You can set up a recurring donation in any amount through our secured website using a debit or credit card. You can designate your contributions for the general shelter fund, to Compassionate Hearts -  our fund for animals with special medical needs - or make a tribute donation honoring a special person or pet. Donations can be changed or stopped at any time.
Thanks so much for supporting Georgia SPCA, and please keep in mind that no donation is too small, to make a difference in a shelter dog's life.
