Available only at the sold out Capturing the Spirit of Oakland Halloween Tours, Laughing Skull Casket Amber Ale is a blend of Red Brick’s signature Laughing Skull brew and rum-soaked oak chips harvested from oak trees at Oakland Cemetery. “Laughing Skull is one of Atlanta’s iconic brands and a perfect beer for the season,” said Red Brick’s brewmaster and president Garrett Lockhart. “Infusing it with native oak from Oakland’s gardens adds a unique dimension to the beer and ties it in to the terroir of the city, and our historic cemetery in particular.”

ATLANTA — Love springs eternal at Oakland Cemetery this Valentine’s Day weekend as Atlanta’s oldest cemetery revisits its popular  Love Stories of Oakland  specialty tour  Feb. 14  and  Feb. 15 .  “ For Victorian-era Atlantans, love and death went hand-in-hand,” said Mary Woodlan, director of special events at Historic Oakland Foundation. “Our Love Stories tour is one of our most popular specialty tours, and it is always exciting to share with our visitors the little-known facts behind Oakland’s monuments to everlasting love.” Love Stories of Oakland  takes attendees to parts of the cemetery not often visited during other tours. More than 25 stops along the hour-long tour chronicles the lives, loves and losses of some of the 70,000 Atlantans who lie in rest at Oakland Cemetery.   Save the date for Tunes from the Tombs, Historic Oakland Cemetery’s annual all-day music festival, 1-8 p.m. (gates open at noon), June 14, featuring musicians performing in and amongst Oakland’s extraordinary monuments, mausoleums and renowned gardens. Two main stages will host amplified artists, while buskers will perform on distinct vignette stages throughout the cemetery. From rock to folk, Americana to jazz and classical to everything in between, a variety of tunes will entice everyone to boogie down. On Saturday June 8 th , people from all over Atlanta gathered at the Historic Oakland Cemetery, to take part of Tombs From The Tombs, the cemetery third annual fundraiser.   This year Oakland Cemetery received a record breaking attendance proving to the world that partying and picnicking among the dead is a fun thing to do.     To soothe people's spirits, TUNES FROM THE TOMBS offered plenty of beer and wine. Local Atlanta food trucks served a variety of tasty festival fare.   Festival attendees enjoyed complimentary guided mini-tour, and had their fortunes read by Atlanta’s own, Robyn Avalon.
