We are doing a new social documentary photography series called "Happy People of Atlanta" where we record humans in their natural condition with a camera. Social documentary photography is the process of recording human beings as they go about their daily activities. The process tries to relate the human beings to the environment that they live in. Our first photo of the series is called "The man with the Blue Macaw". We hope you like it as much as we do!

TOP TEN TIPS FOR TAKING PHOTOS OF YOUR CHILDREN

National Association of Professional Child Photographers Shares Insider Tips for Parents I love photography, I've always do. I have what they call a "good eye" in photography but that doesn't mean I'm a decent photographer. Recently, I received a new SLR camera (the first one in my life) and I took it to an event. The photo above is one of the first pictures I took. The photo was cropped and I use several filters for a more polished feel. Not too shabby for someone who have no idea what "aperture" is.  Wait, let me rephrased that. I know what aperture is, I just don't know how to do it. I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to sit down in peace and play with my new toy, but  I will figured it out sooner or later, I always do ;)   The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) has a few tricks to help make an at-home photography session painless for everyone while still producing pl...

Inspirational Photo Manipulations

These photo manipulations were created by Mary Bailey. She sees herself as a curator (of sorts) of all the wonderful images - past and present - that people share on Flickr. On January 2010 she took her first Photoshop course and discovered what a wonderful creative tool it is. "It was sort of like falling down a rabbit hole. When I went looking for inspiration, I found it here. I discovered how much I enjoyed searching through your photos for just the right image for a digital collage or photomanipulaton".  To see more of her work  please visit her at:  miles beyond the moon

Thru my Lens Project – Spreading Happiness One Picture at a Time

Happiness is contagious. Help me spread it! I’m a true believer that Happiness is fundamental to human existence. I also believe that online social networks plays a critical role in spreading happiness around the world. A new study that followed a large group of people for 20 years concluded that happiness is more contagious than previously thought. “Your happiness depends not just on your choices and actions, but also on the choices and actions of people you don’t even know who are one, two and three degrees removed from you,” said Dr. Nicholas A. Christakis, author of the study, to be published in BMJ, a British journal. If your friend’s friend’s friend becomes happy, that has a bigger impact on you being happy than putting an extra $5,000 in your pocket. People with the most social connections -- friends, spouses, neighbors, relatives -- were also the happiest, the data showed. "Each additional happy person makes you happier," Christakis said. "Imagine tha...

Happiness is Celebrating The Last Day Of Winter

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity,  prosperity would not be so welcome.” Anne Bradstreet   The winter season begins with the winter solstice (around December 21 in the Northern hemisphere and June 21 in the Southern hemisphere), and ends with the spring equinox (around March 21 in the Northern hemisphere and September 23 in the Southern hemisphere). So far, Georgia had one of the most "interesting"   winter season in years. We had one of the biggest snow storm ever recorded. It's very hard to believe that we accumulated a total of 5.3 inches of snow since s now is a rare treat in the south. However, as much as I love snow I'm more excited to welcome spring. Today I'm posting my favorite winter pictures as a tribute of the good memories we had during the season. Enjoy them, and I can't wait to see what happy memories will spring bring us. Are you excited or what?? ;)
