Explore Georgia: Tybee Island Tips No One Tells You About

Ever wonder how can you maximize your visit to Tybee Island? We have gathered the best insider tips so you can plan a dream trip to one of the most unique places you'll ever visit. BEST PLACE TO LAY DOWN YOUR TOWEL Park near the Tybee Beach Beach and Pavilion ( Tybrisa St, Tybee Island, GA 31328) use the bridge  in front of the Tybee Island Marine Center  turn right and walk towards the rock formation close to the sand dunes. This portion of the beach has a smoother sand, lots of shallow areas that are perfect for little kids to bathe safely, is less crowded, and because it's close to the sand dunes you will see a large variety of seaside birds.

Behind The Scenes: Georgia SPCA There's No Place Like Home Picture Day

On Saturday, August 10, Georgia SPCA hosted a Wizard of Oz themed photoshoot, where both pets and owners alike can come in dressed as their favorite Wizard of Oz Characters. The purpose of the photoshoot was to raise money for the shelter and bring awareness to the public about their upcoming fundraiser. There's No Place Like Home, is Georgia SPCA Fourth Annual Benefit Bash, to be be held on September 7 at the Gwinnett Center Ballroom. The photoshoot at the shelter raised $745.00 (which will be doubled, thanks to the "Matching Donation Challenge"); $425.00 from the pictures and $320.00 in donations from selling merchandise and Emily's beautiful OZ themed cupcakes! As an added bonus, one of the families who came for pictures also adopted a puppy from SPCA  while they were there.

This dog is like a gentle giant. He is so kind and well behaved. You can tell by looking at this photo the love the owner and the dog have for each other.

Wizard of Oz pet costumes. You named them, we have them!

The Bluebird Kids with Charlie Yaeger. He is a 97 years young retired aircraft engineer. When I first met him, he was telling me about how he participated in WWII and he then says "google me". I was shocked, google you? Hmmm. Will do, and so I did and this is what I found. Check out this video of Charlie for Nissan! Who knew Charlie was a you-tube sensation ;)

This family was so fun to photograph. Their pug was a ball of energy and he wouldn't stay still for one second.

They also brought their cat, which by looking at the picture you can tell he was not enjoying the "family photoshoot" a tiny bit lol!

No photoshoot can be complete without cupcakes! Thanks Emily for making these. My little ones ate quite a few ;)

Georgia SPCA young volunteers. They  are awesome! They work as hard as any adult at the shelter. Way to go guys! You rock!

Photography for the event was provided by professional photographer and Georgia SPCA volunteer, George Aubrey.
