How to Build a Resume That Stands Out Visually To Help Your Teen Land Their First Job

Creating a captivating resume that sparkles bright enough to catch an employer's attention is an art on its own terms.

With the ramp up pressure kids experience at school and the need to sign up to too many extracurricular activities, it’s no surprise how the number of teens employed have been declining over the past decades.
There are many benefits (and risks) of adolescent employment. The decision to allow your teen to have an after school job should be a well thought-out family decision based on how well they can manage responsibilities, time management and money.

But if your teen is ready to take the plunge the first thing they need to figure out is how to build a resume that stands out even if they don’t have any work experience.

But where to start? How do can you create a snapshot of your ambitions, show your strengths and interests and captive an employers attention?

Happiness is... the movie. The Myths and Truths of the "Pursuit of Happiness" in America

About the film...

HAPPINESS IS…a cinematic road trip that explores the myths and the truths of the “pursuit of happiness” in America. It is the second film from Andrew Shapter, Director of the critically acclaimed documentary, Before The Music Dies. The film journeys through history–without boundaries or prejudices–in an attempt to understand what Happiness truly is, in the face of what the definition of Happiness has become.

Shapter and his small team traveled coast-to-coast, speaking to all sorts of Americans they encountered along the way in an attempt to discover what it means to be happy. In addition to examining the phrase “the pursuit of happiness,” the film guides us through the eyes of spiritual leaders including the Dalai Lama, philanthropists, scholars, and the occasional celebrity (including John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson), and a wide range of happiness “experts” as they describe their experiences and definitions of Happiness. Understanding what it means to be happy and the goal of obtaining happiness is an individual journey protected by our forefathers in the Declaration of Independence. HAPPINESS IS, your road map to happiness!
