Don't miss Cinderella Della Circus: Big-top puppet fairy tale now running at The Center for Puppetry Arts
THE NEW PUPPET SHOW "Cinderella Della Circus" at the Center for Puppetry Arts is about a lovely and kind young woman from a poor background who marries the prince of her dreams. But that's about all this new story has in common with one of the world's oldest and most frequently adapted fairy tales. |
The Center for Puppetry Arts invites you to step right up for a fairy tale puppet show of fantastical proportions. Playing June 16 – July 17 as part of the 2011-12 Family Series, Cinderella Della Circus will charm young and old alike with a whimsical retelling of the classic tale of Cinderella, complete with trick marionettes, circus animals, space travel, Jules Verne and a moon monster.
In this big top tale, Cinderella is a tightrope walker in P.T. Barnum’s circus who speaks only in rhyme. Featuring quirky circus friends like Oliver the elephant and Cornelia the “Zebracorn,” audiences will enjoy the splendid circus acts and amazing adventures that lead up to a surprising ending.
Cinderella Della Circus will be presented in the Mainstage Theater. Show times are as follows:
June 16-July 17, 2011: Tuesday-Friday (10 am, 12 pm); Saturday (11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm); and Sunday (1 pm, 3 pm)
See ya'll at the mainstage theater. I'll be watching this show next week with the kiddos. Included in the full-price ticket cost is admission to the Create-A-Puppet Workshop, where visitors can experience the thrill of puppetry by creating their own Oliver the Elephant Marionette or pick up a Create-A-Puppet To-Go Kit to continue the fun at home!
