How to Build a Resume That Stands Out Visually To Help Your Teen Land Their First Job

Creating a captivating resume that sparkles bright enough to catch an employer's attention is an art on its own terms.

With the ramp up pressure kids experience at school and the need to sign up to too many extracurricular activities, it’s no surprise how the number of teens employed have been declining over the past decades.
There are many benefits (and risks) of adolescent employment. The decision to allow your teen to have an after school job should be a well thought-out family decision based on how well they can manage responsibilities, time management and money.

But if your teen is ready to take the plunge the first thing they need to figure out is how to build a resume that stands out even if they don’t have any work experience.

But where to start? How do can you create a snapshot of your ambitions, show your strengths and interests and captive an employers attention?

United Nations International Day of Happiness Stamps

On 17 March 2014, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) will issue a set of 6 stamps on the theme “International Day of Happiness”.

The designs used are images of happiness. Each image says the word “happy” in the six official languages of the United Nations — Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 20 March as the International Day of Happiness. It is a movement to promote happiness as a universal goal and aspiration in the lives of human beings around the world.

The pursuit of happiness lies at the core of human endeavours. People around the world aspire to lead happy and fulfilling lives free from fear and want, and in harmony with nature.”

Let us reinforce our commitment to inclusive and sustainable human development and renew our pledge to help others. When we contribute to the common good, we ourselves are enriched. Compassion promotes happiness and will help build the future we want.”  Secretary-General Ban Kin-moon
The U.N. chose a photo of a rescued pit bull named “Macy” from Hearts Speak to grace 1 of 6 stamps to mark the International Day of Happiness. Putting Macy in the cover of the Bulletin 109 from the United Nations Postal Administration is a victory for responsible Pit Bull owners around the world.

Macy's adopter said to Mother Nature Network: "I had never considered myself a pit bull person, and if I were honest, they scared me a little," Shen said. "However, Macy completely blew my stereotypes and preconceptions out of the water. The thing Macy loves above all else is human interaction and attention."
