Lift Up Atlanta ( www.liftupatlanta.org ) is having it's annual Summer Fun Festival where you can enjoy a petting zoo, live entertainment including a magic show, kids' fun zone, games and activities, vendors, a field day team competition and much more. It's a fun family oriented event that will be held at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville, GA on June 20 th from 10am to 6pm. The main goal of this festival is to collect new school supplies for needy children. That's your admission to the festival - donation or school supplies. Whether you donate a pack of pencils or a truckload of new backpacks, it all helps. Your donations are tax deductible.

Lift Up Atlanta, Inc. Holds Annual Christmas extravaganza In Support Of Homeless Women And Children On December 6, 2014

Georgia based nonprofit, Lift Up Atlanta, Inc. anno unces its Annual Christmas Extravaganza to benefit homeless women and children. The event will be held December 6th, noon – 6pm, at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall Building, 2405 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville, GA. The Gwinnett County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall will be transformed for the day into a 25,000 square foot Winter Wonderland filled with holiday activities for the entire community to participate in.   The Christmas Extravaganza will include:  An entertainment stage featuring live, home-grown local talent Holiday shopping at over 40 vendor booths, all selling unique, homemade crafts and treats Santa for the kids Face painting and games for the kids A free “Taste of Christmas” dessert bar, featuring holiday sweets

Lift Up Atlanta Seeks Help From The Community For Thanksgiving Food Drive

It's almost that time of year.  Where we gather with family and friends and chow down on some delicious and savory holiday dishes.  I love this time of year. A lot of people are not as fortunate to have all the delicious food at their fingertips. Lift Up Atlanta (www.liftupatlanta.org) goal this holiday season is to feed 300 needy families this Thanksgiving and they need YOUR help to do this. You can get together with your family, friends, co-workers, church or group members and neighbors to collect Thanksgiving food items such as canned vegetables and fruit, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, onions, cranberry sauce, stuffing/dressing, aluminum baking pans, apples, oranges and any food you would like to eat on Thanksgiving. Lift Up Atlanta Summer Fun Festival

  Lift Up Atlanta ( www.liftupatlanta.org ), a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps the homeless and low income families in the metro Atlanta area is hosting a Summer Fun Festival on June 21, 2014 from 11am to 4pm in Mableton, GA. Riverview Landing has donated 10 beautiful acres alongside the Chattahoochee River for this fun filled event.  The festival will have live entertainment, carnival games, magic shows, a kid's fun zone with inflatables and games, vendor shop ping, a silent auction and much more. The event will attract thousands to come relax and have fun. FREE Career Workshops to Homeless, Unemployed and Low Income Individuals

  Lift Up Atlanta is having career workshops the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of every month. The workshops will help with resume building, improving interview skills, dress for success and provide great job search tips and job coaching and mentoring. The workshops will be held in Decatur, GA (right on the MARTA bus line). You will be given guidance from experienced professionals that will not only help you at the workshop but provide follow ups especially if you ever need additional mentoring or job coaching.   WHAT :  Cumberland Mall is hosting Experience the Wonders of Literacy with Page Turners Make Great Learners. Celebrities and personalities will “take the stage” to read children’s classics to promote reading during the summer months.  Attendees will engage with celebrity guests as they explain how their occupation involves reading and answer questions from audience members.  Join Cumberland Mall and Page Turners Make Great Learners for an afternoon filled with tales of a misbehaving kitty, a vacationing bedtime monster and a complaining “sweet” tooth! 1st Saturday Bless the Homeless Event Recap

On Saturday, February 2, I had I took my eldest for the monthly Lift Up Atlanta Bless The Homeless event. Lift Up Atlanta is a non profit organization that is dedicated to helping the homeless and feeding the hungry. They offer services, both directly and via referrals, to address the needs of homeless women and children in the Atlanta area. These include hot meal programs, tutoring and after school programs, life skills training, recreational activities for families with children and much more.  Every month they meet and distribute coats, warm wear and clothing to homeless men, women and children. Volunteers bring basic necessities item s ( toothpaste , toothbrush , d eodorant, lotion, shaving cream and razors, hair brush, combs, soap, conditioning shampoo, and f eminine hygiene products and distribute them in "blessings bags" among the homeless population.
