This portion of the beach has a smoother sand, lots of shallow areas that are perfect for little kids to bathe safely, is less crowded, and because it's close to the sand dunes you will see a large variety of seaside birds.

The Pay It Forward Expo Connects Shoppers to the Community Northlake Mall invites shoppers to join them Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. to experience the Pay It Forward Non-Profit Expo . Sponsored by The Children’s Wish Foundation and The Gwinnett Children’s Shelter , this expo is designed to give shoppers a look inside the local non-profit organizations which serve their community. Many local 501- C registered non-profit organizations will be located throughout the Food Court and adjacent areas in the mall to speak with shoppers. Designed to educate the community on how to “pay it forward,” each organization will speak about volunteer opportunities and how to donate to its cause. On Labor Day Give Back To Your Community. Volunteer for the 2nd Annual Hosea Feed the Hungry Labor of Love Labor Day Event

Looking for a way to give back this Labor day weekend? Join Hosea Feed the hungry for their  2 nd annual Labor Day Event at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood! During the Labor of Love Event, they will distribute bags of groceries to 2,000 families, as well as offer job readiness workshops and employment opportunities (a limited number of vendors will be present). You can volunteer and join the Set-Up team assist with unloading the trucks, setting up tables, chairs, stanchions, supplies, etc. throughout the event space. Volunteers must be flexible about assignment/ task, be able to lift, move, carry, etc. PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must be at least 14 years old to participate in this event.
