How to Build a Resume That Stands Out Visually To Help Your Teen Land Their First Job

Creating a captivating resume that sparkles bright enough to catch an employer's attention is an art on its own terms.

With the ramp up pressure kids experience at school and the need to sign up to too many extracurricular activities, it’s no surprise how the number of teens employed have been declining over the past decades.
There are many benefits (and risks) of adolescent employment. The decision to allow your teen to have an after school job should be a well thought-out family decision based on how well they can manage responsibilities, time management and money.

But if your teen is ready to take the plunge the first thing they need to figure out is how to build a resume that stands out even if they don’t have any work experience.

But where to start? How do can you create a snapshot of your ambitions, show your strengths and interests and captive an employers attention?

Georgia SPCA There's No Place Like Home 4th Annual Benefit Bash Recap

On September 7th, Georgia SPCA volunteers and supporters gathered at the Gwinnett Center Ballroom for magical evening full of lions, scarecrows, witches, and evil monkeys. This year the goal was to raise $40,000 to go toward taking care of the animals while they await their “forever" homes.

Georgia SPCA devote countless hours to rescue abused, neglected and abandoned animals. They are unaffiliated with any other rescue organization including the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), and they receive no governmental or state funds to support their operations.

Most of the shelter income is generated from donations or proceeds from fundraisers like “There's no place like home” benefit bash.

The cost to attend the fundraiser was $50 and included a dinner provided by Proof of the Pudding, an entry for a raffle for a hot air balloon ride for two, a silent auction, and plenty of dancing provided by DJ Audiocake.

Celebrity guest speakers Pam Johnson-Bennett, CCBC,  star of Discovery Channel UK’s new television series, Psycho Kitty and Tim Link, host of nationally syndicated radio show, "Animal Writes," on Pet Life Radio, and author of Wagging Tales: Every Animal Has a Tale were present at the event.

Guests were encouraged but not required to dress in their best emerald and white, or dress as their favorite Wizard of Oz character and enter the costume contest.
